Galilean Nights
A Corner Stone Event in 2009-IYA
As part of celebrating the International Year of Astronomy, during the Galilean Nights event (Oct 22-24, 2009) organizations around the world will be simultaneously engaged in public outreach programs as well as numerous other astronomy events and activities.
MyTelescope.com is pleased to have participated in this global event through the Galilean Nights Remote Observing project.
During the Galilean Nights Remote Observing project our remotely operated telescopes were made available for live control to the general public free of charge.
Unfortunately, there was a large power outage in the area of our New Brunswick
site a few hours before the Galilean Nights event; the power outage caused
some equipment failure which prevented the site from being used that weekend.
To make up for this, all those who came and registered with MyTelescope.com
for the event have been given free viewing credits so that they can do
their observing at a time of their choosing.
